A compact entry point into the world of 3D printing

FRIEDBERG, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It is very small, compact and easy to operate. And: it presents a competitively-priced entry point into the world of 3D print technology. This is the VX200, the new 3D compact printer from voxeljet, which celebrated its premiere at EuroMold 2012.

"Also our smallest 3D printer VX200 features the well-known advantages of the large machines. It offers a robust machine design, and high-quality components ensure that it can also be used for continuous operations in industrial settings. This makes the machine the first choice for a variety of application areas from research work at universities and institutes to the fully automated production of design pieces and prototypes," says voxeljet CFO Rudolf Franz.

In the end, possible application options are only limited by the build space, which measures 300 x 200 x 150 mm. The piezo print head system of the VX200 reaches resolutions of up to 300 dpi. A layer applied in one cycle features a thickness of 150 micrometres. The build process for the VX200 is also fully automated and runs without interruptions, reaching a vertical build progress of up to 14 mm per hour.

Due to its dimensions (1.7 m long x 0.9 m wide x 1.5 m high), the 450 kg VX200 is also suitable for installation in tight spaces. "While we have expanded our product range upwards in the past, we are now addressing customer demand for a small and compact machine with the VX200. Now our range includes 3D printers with build spaces ranging from DIN A4 formats to sports car dimensions, or to put it more technically, from 0.01 to a maximum of 8.0 cubic metres," says Rudolf Franz.
