Race enthusiasts are still familiar with the name Toni Mang, even years
after his legendary victories. Now the five-time world champion, who
dominated the 250 ccm and 350 ccm class between 1980 and 1987, visited
voxeljet to find out more about the possibilities of 3D printing.
The most successful German motorcycle racer, who is still active in the
racing world particularly for the promotion of young talent, was visibly
impressed by the digital production process. The trained toolmaker from
Inning am Ammersee has also made a name for himself as an inventor and
developer of metal construction, and was very excited about the simple
and tool-less production of functional models and moulds for metal
casting using the 3D printing method.
Dr. Ingo Ederer referred to the large number of already implemented 3D
printing projects for the racing sport. voxeljet has also been a sponsor
of student race teams several times. Hence there was no shortage of
discussion topics at this particular meeting.
